A. Namaste. This path is not about an experience, it is about going beyond experience to be present in THAT which has always been. The experiences and phenomena that happen for some seekers along the way are entirely functions of the illusion of seperation. The experience (which may include physical tingles, seeing lights, development of siddhis, etc.) will appear to vary for every seeker because it is the reaction of that particular ego-mind and body-form reacting to the presence of grace. One with a heavily conditioned mind who fully surrenders to grace for the first time may have an intense experience as the ego is shocked. One who is familiar with grace may have a gentler reaction as they carry less "baggage". It might seem odd to a conditioned mind that one who is "less spiritual" has the bigger experience, but that is often the case.
This is one reason that in the ancient traditions these "spiritual experiences" are only to be discussed with the Guru. Comparing the experience of one ego-mind to that of another acutely focuses one back on duality.
Remember that this path is self-guiding through the grace of Kundalini shakti. If the ego-mind needs a big shakeup to dissolve it will happen. If the ego-mind does not need a big shake up it won't. Kundalini is an inherent part of consciousness, it will always work if allowed to function. It may not work in accordance with the mind's desire, but it will always pour directly back to the one Brahman.
I will note that this fear and arguement usually arises in those that fancy themselves to be "energy sensitive". Firstly, Shaktipat is not something to do with energy as most new age movements perceive it. Grace exists as pure consciousness, from Brahman, this is beyond "energy". All energy arises from Brahman, it does not constitute Brahman. Another point to ponder, if the seeker is strongly bound to their personal identification as "energy sensitive" and Kundalini shakti works to dissolve identification and desire then following logic wouldn't the process of that seeker be more likely to deprive them of the ego-experience they seek?
What is important isn't what the seeker experiences with the mind or body. What is important is the absolute surrender to the action of grace. Do not enter shaktipat or sadhana with expectations and cling to every feeling you get. Still the mind and just let what is there be there.
