Regarding the "recent events" you are asking about, the only issue which should be of concern is the issue of deception. Wearing the saffron robes of a celibate order while engaging in sexual activity and then preaching Brahmacharya for sadhakas is certainly unacceptable not because two human beings have made the decision to be intimate but because it defies the ultimate spiritual law which is TRUTH. The media has created a sensationalist buzz surrounding the sexuality of the incident and this has incited riots. Rioting and violence are also unacceptable. We must acknowledge the situation for what it is, but reacting with malice and dwelling in anger are attachments that prevent our own progress. Shakti creates the storylines which are essential for jivatma to achieve realization. She will teach those who must be taught. We do not need to lend our consciousness and judgements to her actions.
A similar question was asked in regards to the policy of Sannyas and celibacy in this ashram. Sannyas as practiced here does not strictly carry a vow of celibacy. The vow of sannyas here is to live free from desire. Most often this takes the form of celibacy. Promiscuity or dishonesty are certainly not acceptable. This is not a dasnami path, however sannyasins are held to the highest moral standards.
